Dear First Tee Families,

Registration for our upcoming First Tee classes is opening soon! Please review the information below carefully, as registration dates and processes differ depending on whether your child is a returning or new participant.

Registration links will go live at 8:00 AM on the dates listed below according to your child’s participation status.

**For Returning Participants**

Q: When does registration open for returning participants?
Registration for returning participants opens January 26 at 8:00 AM and closes February 1 at 8:00 PM.

Q: Who qualifies as a returning participant?
A returning participant is anyone who has participated in a First Tee program during the past calendar year.

Q: How will I receive the registration link?
We will share the registration link with returning participants in the days leading up to January 26 via email.

**For New Participants**

Q: When does registration open for new participants?
New participant registration will take place February 2–8.

Q: Where can I find the registration link?
We will post the registration link on the First Tee – West Texas website in the days leading up to February 2. Please note that the registration link will not be live until 8:00 AM on February 2.

Q: How does the new participant lottery system work?
To ensure fairness, registration for new participants is conducted through a two-step lottery process:

Step I: Program Lottery Registration (February 2–8)

– Beginning February 2, log in or create a First Tee account at www.firstteewesttexas.org/classes.

– Add your child(ren) to as many class waitlists as your schedule allows (during the lottery period, lotteries appear as waitlists).

– No payment is required during this step.

– You may register at any time during the 7-day window — there is no advantage to registering early.

– Please note that you cannot rank class preferences during this period.

Step II: Lottery Selection and Enrollment (February 9–10)

– After Step I ends, a randomized lottery will be drawn from all waitlist entries.

– Families selected will receive an email notification.

– Once your child is selected for one class, they will automatically be removed from all other lotteries.

– Selected families will have 48 hours from the time of notification to log in, confirm their spot, and either pay or apply for financial aid.

– If you miss the 48-hour window, your child’s spot will be forfeited and offered to the next participant on the waitlist.

– Check your spam folder for emails from [email protected], and consider adding that address to your contacts.

– You can also log into your account anytime to check your cart — if there’s a number other than “0,” you have a class ready to check out.

– Do not “X” out any classes in your cart. This will remove your child from the class, and the spot will be given to another participant. Please check out all children at once to avoid errors.

– Families not selected will remain on the waitlist and will only be notified if a spot opens.

Q: What if my children are not placed together?
Because the lottery is fully random, siblings may not be selected for the same class or day. Unfortunately, we cannot add additional spots to accommodate sibling placement.

Q: What happens if spots remain open after the lottery?
Any remaining class openings after the lottery process will be available for first-come, first-served registration.
